I realised today that it’s not only back home where people went absolutely nuts in the Fairs over brochures, catalogues and silly give-a-ways. They could have easily killed themselves or others to get the stuff without having a clue about them.

At the Checkpoint event this morning, some people acted as if they haven’t seen a pen or a notebook in their whole life. There was a gentleman who took a hand full of pens and asked for extra name badges for his kids! God knows how a six-year-old kid would get excited for badges! Well, no matter what, people (including most of us) just love FREE stuff.

I’m now off to watch the Apprentice Finale!

Have you ever paid any attention to “The Way I see It” messages on your Starbucks cups?

Today on my way to work, I got my usual Venti Earl Gray tea and for the first time I realised there is a message on my cup under a section called “The way I see it”. Here is the message:

I read it at the right time (when I needed to read it) and enjoyed my tea even more 🙂

The Cisco event went just fine. The location was not the best one though. It was too far; right beside the Pearson Airport. Anyways, on the way back, I was reading the iQ magazine, which I got in the event. There is an interview with Eileen Tichane, the CEO of PowerPrint-ColorWays. Quite an interesting interview:

“What was your first job after graduate school? I had my choice of two jobs. Xerox offered me a good position, but so did a small startup. I called my dad and he gave me a good piece of advice. He said, “You have the rest of your life to find the profession and the job of your wishes. If you take the job at the startup, you’ll be involved in everything. You’ll get much more hands-on experience than you’ll ever get an established company.” And, boy, was he right.”

I think he was right too. The startup is a better choice as long as you can live with your postdated or even bounced cheques!

Once again, I’m not pointing my fingers at anyone in particular here, but people are strange these days. They are indeed.

They put others down to elevate themselves; they are talking behind their backs; they don’t approve them in anything. All of a sudden, they put on a big smile in front of them and then guess what? YOU are the one who will be the victim and will be completely FORGOTTEN. “YOU” who always listened to them, talked to them and tried to proof them wrong. That’s sad and it makes me sick but apparently, that’s how it goes these days. So the questions are, why should you really care? Why would you kill yourself over nothing? Do they really deserve you? I still don’t know. All I know is that the next day you wake up and they don’t even remember your name.

I’ve been a victim. Watch out so you won’t be the next one.

I’m going to miss the Coldplay gig big time. Not good!

I was reading the 2005-2006 TSO manual on my way back home. There are tons of great shows coming up in 2006. However, what really grabbed my attention was the “Frequent Questions” section on the first page for the ones who are new to the TSO. Guess what? One of the main questions was: “What if I need to cough?”. That is actually a clever question as I had the same problem a couple of years ago in one of the TSO shows and my coughs embarrassed the hell out of me. The answer in the manual is to take some cough medicine in advance, bring unwrapped lozenges with you, try to “bury” your cough in a loud passage of music, blah blah blah.

My advice would be to either sell your ticket or offer it to a nice friend of yours, stay at home, in your bed, switch on your CD Player or MP3 Player or iPod or whatever and enjoy listening to your favorite.

I’m back again.

I feel like writing today. I biked for a short while, just to get some fresh air and to get used to my new bike. It’s energizing and it gives you life; Especially if you are a bit down. Now I’m waiting for some guests and while I’m waiting, I’m listening to some music. Some good ones.
