Autumn – Two Thousand and Seven

I love autumn… I even like the rain, the grayness of the sky… I like the morning breeze, the coldness of an autumn day… I like the intensity and the chemistry of the autumn colors… Red, Gray, Orange…

Lucy Maud Montgomery described my exact feelings in her journal:

“The summer is over now. It is October and autumn. We are having delightful fall days, misty and purple, with a pungent, mellow air and magnificent sunsets, followed by the rarest of golden twilights and moonlit nights floating in sliver. Maple and birch are crimson and gold, and the fields sun themselves in aftermaths. But it is autumn and beautiful as everything is, it is the beauty of decay – the sorrowful beauty of the end.”

Enjoy the season…

TIFF ’07 | Unfinished Stories

And I finished my festival films with “Unfinished Stories“.

Last night was the world premiere of “Unfinished Stories”, an Iranian film written and directed by Pourya Azarbayjani… A very young amateur director whose passion over 4 years resulted in making this film… It was an interesting work, considering the fact that it was his first movie and that he only made the film with the help of friends and his own drive… He was also present at the theatre and was quite excited to see his work screened for the very first time at one of the most well-known festivals in the world.

It was a series of stories about three different women who don’t know each other but somehow get related in some way on a cold night in Tehran.

In general, it was a good film, but not one of my festival’s favorites and definitely not one of my preferred Iranian films.

I’m done with the festival this year… And I’m thrilled that I got a chance to see some very good films.

Laterz…
