Life…

This is so pretty… Read it s’il vous plaît…

LIFE, believe, is not a dream
So dark as sages say;
Oft a little morning rain
Foretells a pleasant day.
Sometimes there are clouds of gloom,
But these are transient all;
If the shower will make the roses bloom,
O why lament its fall?

Rapidly, merrily,
Life’s sunny hours flit by,
Gratefully, cheerily,
Enjoy them as they fly!

What though Death at times steps in
And calls our Best away?
What though sorrow seems to win,
O’er hope, a heavy sway?
Yet hope again elastic springs,
Unconquered, though she fell;
Still buoyant are her golden wings,
Still strong to bear us well.

Manfully, fearlessly,
The day of trial bear,
For gloriously, victoriously,
Can courage quell despair!

Green…

So I was wearing green the other day. A rather old, button-less green sweater which has a unique design and still keeps me warm during winter times. Strangely enough, everyone I like in a way or have respect for was wearing green that day…

Write something about green, I said. Just an idea… I don’t really choose the topics, you replied. But I will keep that in mind… You know what; actually, I heard a great line a few days ago that I wished I’d written myself, you continued. It is part of a song written by a friend of mine… and it gives me goosebumps every time I listen to it… I don’t remember the exact words, but it went something like this: “You are so yellow and I’m always blue; together we’ll make green come true”.

… And I was off to enjoy my spaghetti, thinking about the line you just said earlier.

Conversation #20

– There are a few things that will always remind me of you…
– And they are?!
– Hmmm… the last puff on the tobacco, heart shapes, San Francisco, hmmm… seriously, I will always remember you whenever I see or hear about this stuff…
– Heh… what else?!
– Oh, Tommy and Gina!!!

Michael Clayton… Again!

Well, well, well… here I am again…

Unlike the (supposed) majority of the ladies in the world, I’m not a big George Clooney fan… I know some are utterly in love with him… They actually get jealous seeing him with his latest girl on the cover of tabloid magazines!!! Years ago, I used to like his character in “ER”, back when I was a TV fanatic, but to me he was only another actor…

All that aside, I think he did a fab job in “Michael Clayton”… As a matter of fact, the whole cast offered great acting which made you smile at the end of the film… The first half hour of the film got me totally lost, but after a while, you start to place the puzzle pieces in their right place…

To me, a film which makes you think and talk about it afterwards is considered a good movie… To me, “Michael Clayton” is a good film and indeed deserves some awards… My favorite character in the film was Arthur, played beautifully by Tom Wilkinson (may I add ‘Brits Rule’?!)… It’s a shame he has quite a strong competitor at the Oscars this year… Javier Bardem is the main one, though I can’t deny that he also acted amazingly in “No Country for Old Men”…

You can tell that I’m now officially catching up on recent movies! Yay…

Snow Falls…

Today the storm was strong… The wind blew me around morning time… Back and forth, left and right… My nose was running and my ears had no feeling in them … Unfeeling… The snow, however, was falling beautifully, crystal white…

Today I will write… Not as a distraction… The distraction that seems bothersome every so often… But for myself and only myself…

Today is creative… and dynamic… Should I expect some good things to happen? Or should I perhaps aim to make good things happen…

Today I will make it smiles all round...

Return… Faster!

It’s sweet to see that people actually miss you… Not so much “you” as a person, but your writings… I admit, I’ve been pretty lazy blogging since the new year began and I just realized we are almost done with January… How scary is that?! It’s not actually the days of the year passing; it’s more like the days of our lives are flying by so quickly… So quick that it becomes hard to grasp hold of them in a way you want… Wondering whose life we are really living… Yet another challenge!

I’m reading a lot these days… Jumping from one book to another… A lot of poetry, actually, to the point that I print a few to read on the train back to home everyday… They have an incredibly calming effect on me… You just read them, and read, and read… There’s no story (as such) to follow and no ending to look forward to… For me, they summarize a moment’s enjoyment…

I’m planning to watch a lot of movies… Foreign, Hollywood, Black-and-White, you name it… I’ve actually begun participating in few movie clubs initiated by friends… My favorite mode of watching films, however, is snuggled up in my tiny den, accompanied with sushi, hot green tea and an artsy golden oldie…

Oh, and have I told you about my favorite new snack: almonds with dried cranberries?! How bizarre you would think, right? It’s very tasty, though… Especially when the flavors melt together in your mouth at same time, washed down with white tea in the end… 🙂

“The need for society which springs from the emptiness and monotony of men’s lives drives them together; but their many unpleasant and repulsive qualities once more drive them apart. The mean distance which they finally discover, and which enables them to endure being together, is politeness.”
