Go Dim…

I’m planning on attending Earth Hour tomorrow, March 29, 2008… Yes! Yes! I just found out that all the signs, ads and lights of Yonge-Dundas Square will be going dark during Earth Hour… How fabulous I would say!

Torontonians, here are some Earth Hour events in the city:

  • March 29, 2008 @ 8pm – Ontario Science Centre (770 Don Mills Rd.) celebrates Earth Hour with free activities – environmentally-themed story-telling, music and art; telescopic observations of Mars and Saturn; dancing to the star with and an Earth Hour DJ set and more.
  • March 29, 2008 @ 8pm – Starbucks at Yonge St. & Brookdale, north of Lawrence Ave. Enjoy your beverage by candlelight; participate in guided coffee tastings by the fireplace… Mmmmm…
  • March 29, 2008 from 7:45pm to 9:00pm – Big Stretch Yoga Centre (1560 Bayview Ave., Ste. 303) supports Earth Hour and the World Wildlife Fund with a candlelit yoga class… How relaxing I reckon! Must reserve @ 416-486-4448.
  • March 29, 2008 @ 7:30pm – The Art of Cheese offers a “Celebration of Canadian Wine & Artisanal Cheeses” with a candlelight tasting. Must reserve @ 416-850-7639.

Go dim and enjoy the celebration…

11:11

She ended it with a quote from Edward Everett Hale while everybody was still exhaling…

“I am only one, but still I am one. I cannot do everything, but still I can do something; and because I cannot do everything I will not refuse to do the something I can do.”

It’s 11:11 post meridiem and I’m about to shut down…

That Fearless Smile…

In her new life she notices her surroundings… She sits under a tree in the afternoon with a box full of hidden memories; trying not so hard to let go of the unfinished old stories… Still smiles at strangers and makes them smile up at her eternally… She plants yellow tulips in that little garden afar; in the middle of the infinite sky… In her new life she lives blue and dreams green… And her story continues while she dares to be daring…

Those Who Do Not Dance…

This poem made me delighted and all smiley…

A crippled child
Said, “How shall I dance?”
Let your heart dance
We said.

Then the invalid said:
“How shall I sing?”
Let your heart sing
We said

Then spoke the poor dead thistle,
But I, how shall I dance?”
Let your heart fly to the wind
We said.

Then God spoke from above
“How shall I descend from the blue?”
Come dance for us here in the light
We said.

All the valley is dancing
Together under the sun,
And the heart of him who joins us not
Is turned to dust, to dust.

A *Silent* Interview…

See through it…

Who are you?

I’m an old goldfish.

What do you do?

Seeking nonstop for a lost one.

Where do you live?

In a small cage made of red paper.

For how long?

Next question.

Can we write a short story about you?

Only if you keep it a secret.

You bet! Thank you. Oh sorry, what was your name?

I don’t have one.

The Darkness Of The Light…

A brief story of an unborn…

She once believed the sky was going to fall on her head, deeply… The open doors were all going to collapse while the endless pain would remain in every each step she took… She was utterly convinced her vulnerable image was falling into a thousand pieces… She constantly felt the unfairness and dishonesty of life… Anger and frustration lurking beneath her dead skin in a world where she only wept…

One day, though, the rain suddenly stopped falling and she was rejuvenated through the warmth of the sun… The warmth which helped her overcome the timidity in every each cell of her body… She is now getting ready to introduce her true self to the rest of the world while her story continues…
