Wow, it’s been a while since my last post on the cultural events on about town… So right here and now, I’m going to follow my own tradition and share a few of my favorite ones in the previous month…
“Fly with the Cage“… an art exhibition inspired by recent events in the motherland… many artists (both Iranians and non-Iranians) united and expressed their emotions in a collection of art pieces in various forms… at a glance, the exhibit as a whole was admirable, considering the fact that the artists only came together in less than a month… what a great and *green* way to draw attention and awareness, if you ask me…
The Coldplay gig… oh my all-time favorite Mr. Martin and his mates… the British foursome took the stage in Toronto for the second time in a year and this time around, their energy blew some 44,000 fans away… once again, they put on a fantastic performance at the huge Rogers Centre and compared to their show last year at the ACC, this one was much more soulful and energized… the *yellow* balloons, the thousands of colorful butterflies and the whole atmosphere left me utterly voiceless and smiley all the way…
“Valentino: The Last Emperor“… a documentary on one of the most famous designers in the history of fashion… the documentary, directed by Matt Tyrnauer, focuses on showcasing an extraordinary yet a dramatic partnership and Valentino’s celebrated career for almost five decades… makes you wonder how much effort and how many beautiful minds should come together in unison to create a piece of haute couture…
“The Sound of Music“… a lovely play at the Princess of Wales Theatre, that refreshed my childhood memories and transferred my mind to more than 25 years ago when our poor parents were forced to watch us put on a play and sing all the songs — how funny and yet how admirable! After 50 years of the movie production, you can see the hills are still so alive…
Last but not least, my beloved Tori… her gig at beautiful Massey Hall was another jaw-dropping performance… she did it again… blew my mind away… left me in a trance with her music and out-of-this-universe voice… and I repeat myself… wherever you go… as long as you have those lyrics, your voice and your piano, I’ll follow you…
Now, I eagerly looking forward to that time of the year… Oh yes, the Toronto International Film Festival is just around the corner and I, like so many other movie lovers, CAN NOT WAIT…

Hah… I love that *Wad Of $20 Bills*!
“Remember: Information is not knowledge; knowledge is not wisdom; wisdom is not truth; truth is not beauty; beauty is not love; love is not music; music is the best.”
It’s been a while – almost two weeks – since my intention to talk about some of my recent cultural activities on the blog… arts and galleries… movies and plays… music and concerts… the usual… somehow, it seems I never find the time, the right time, to do just that… so instead of making promises about the future, I’ll start here and now to share my excitement and smiling face since this morning…
Tori Amos is in town once again and this time she is going to impress us with her sinful attraction… oh yes, bring it on Tori… I’ve been endlessly counting down the days to see you again live, with your flaming red hair, moving your fingers beautifully on your piano and harpsichord… and your voice, THAT voice, which always transports me to another universe…
Stay tuned for more art-oriented posts and, of course, an update on Tori’s show…

This is dedicated to a friend who is as much of a *caffeine* addict as I am… Happy *venti-ing* my friend 🙂
“Regret for the things we did can be tempered by time; it is regret for the things we did not do that is inconsolable.”
She’s kept waiting and waiting for the longest time… until last night when she picked up a paper lying beside her bed since her return, saying: those you keep waiting will count up your failings… she reads it again and wonders why she is getting all bothered… why dealing with shocking betrayals all over again… with the fearful moments… why comparing her inner sight negatively with others’ imitated masks… oh, all those bloody masks!
So she starts listening to her inner voice which was growing louder and deeper… *STOP* feeling sorry for yourself and keep your spirits high… *HIGH* enough to see life from a brighter side…
She then smiles, folds the paper in her mind and continues to live the most beautiful life…

And here is another one… Simple yet *KOOL*
“No one should negotiate their dreams. Dreams must be free to flee and fly high. No government, no legislature, has a right to limit your dreams. You should never agree to surrender your dreams.”
