L’Arbre…

This was written during a night of insomnia… not so long ago…

I want to be that tree;
as green as its own spring leaves;
as hale as the green fists in the sky;
and as heavy as your gaze,
which ennobles my dreams
in your saneness thoughts.

I want to be the tree on which
you carve your fullest heart.

A Little (Black) Note…

Here is a little note on a gray and a lonely evening…

You said this would be an emotional day for her or someone close to her… asked her not to push herself beyond her limits… a limit as big as a tea cup and as small as the sea of time… to be kind to herself before anyone or anything within her surroundings… the ones who often inject their negative souls in to her immaculate body… you told her she is not and should not be responsible for others’ woes… showed her how to place the big word “NO” in her little vocabulary of mind…

Finally… you asked her to be patient… something good will happen to her in the not-too-far future…

And you said it all right.

The Goings On About Town…

Wow, it’s been a while since my last post on the cultural events on about town… So right here and now, I’m going to follow my own tradition and share a few of my favorite ones in the previous month…

Fly with the Cage“… an art exhibition inspired by recent events in the motherland… many artists (both Iranians and non-Iranians) united and expressed their emotions in a collection of art pieces in various forms… at a glance, the exhibit as a whole was admirable, considering the fact that the artists only came together in less than a month… what a great and *green* way to draw attention and awareness, if you ask me…

The Coldplay gig… oh my all-time favorite Mr. Martin and his mates… the British foursome took the stage in Toronto for the second time in a year and this time around, their energy blew some 44,000 fans away… once again, they put on a fantastic performance at the huge Rogers Centre and compared to their show last year at the ACC, this one was much more soulful and energized… the *yellow* balloons, the thousands of colorful butterflies and the whole atmosphere left me utterly voiceless and smiley all the way…

Valentino: The Last Emperor“… a documentary on one of the most famous designers in the history of fashion… the documentary, directed by Matt Tyrnauer, focuses on showcasing an extraordinary yet a dramatic partnership and Valentino’s celebrated career for almost five decades… makes you wonder how much effort and how many beautiful minds should come together in unison to create a piece of haute couture…

The Sound of Music“… a lovely play at the Princess of Wales Theatre, that refreshed my childhood memories and transferred my mind to more than 25 years ago when our poor parents were forced to watch us put on a play and sing all the songs — how funny and yet how admirable! After 50 years of the movie production, you can see the hills are still so alive…

Last but not least, my beloved Tori… her gig at beautiful Massey Hall was another jaw-dropping performance… she did it again… blew my mind away… left me in a trance with her music and out-of-this-universe voice… and I repeat myself… wherever you go… as long as you have those lyrics, your voice and your piano, I’ll follow you…

Now, I eagerly looking forward to that time of the year… Oh yes, the Toronto International Film Festival is just around the corner and I, like so many other movie lovers, CAN NOT WAIT…
