One of the highlights this season at the AGO is Douglas Clark: Sweet Immortality exhibition. The exhibition has been already started and will be going on until May 15, 2005.
Here is what I read in the AGO Membership’s Journal about Mr. Clark and his work:
“Douglas Clark (1952-1999) worked as a photographer, teacher, curator, critic, but foremost he was an artist. Within a short period of time he produced compelling bodies of work that explored enigmatically photography’s limitless creative possibilities and its history. The exhibition features his highly lauded Articles of Faith, comprising electric found objects from the artist’s life and popular cultural artifacts assembled into totemlike images. Clark’s passion for photography, expressed materially and conceptually, embodied his highly charged intellectual energy and culminated into many insightful curatorial projects.”
This is on my “to do” list in the nearest future. Let me know if you would like to join me 🙂
I would….And they have some design exhibitions as well, so we can plan this for one of these days…
